The 2D Practice programme is designed to introduce and develop knowledge and understanding of contemporary 2D art practice. It will offer you the opportunity to research current practice and develop practical skills associated with the production of 2D artworks.
Year 1:
You will develop a range of knowledge, practical skills and ideas while researching, developing and producing two-dimensional solution(s) to a selection of given and self-generated creative briefs.
Practical Workshops include:
- Developmental Drawing
- Collage
- Digital College
- Silk Screen printmaking
- Lino Printing
- Mono-Printing
- Painting
These practical workshops are currently delivered during the 1st Semester in the CAP Studios.
Year 2:
The focus of the second year of the HND is to develop your own practice in response to your own interests and progression ambitions. You will be encouraged to research and develop practice directly related to your chosen UCAS or Emplyabilty route. For example if you wish to apply for a 2D based degree (Drawing & Painting, Printmaking etc…) you would continue to develop your practice building on previously gained knowledge and skills.
You may also be applying for a non specific Fine Art degree in which case you may produce work in a variety of ways including 2D & 3D processes and techniques.
All course programmes are also supported by a range of tools, equipment, and resources within the CAP Studio or other areas of the college*
